Employment & Training:

Native Employment Office

Our Employment & Training Program helps clients gain skills, training, work experience, and job opportunities.

This program currently has no funding dollars but can assist with the following areas:

  • Two women sitting at a wooden table during a discussion; one is pointing at a newspaper or magazine while the other is listening. Notebooks, a yellow pen, and a watch are on the table.

    We will:

    - Conduct quality assessments of client needs

    - Help clients find and address employment barriers

    - Offer support like life skills training, resume writing, job search clubs, and work readiness workshops

    - Guide clients in creating and sticking to a career action plan

    - Assist with career choices

    - Provide necessary employment services and programs for clients in the community

    - Set up interviews and connect clients with employers

    - Follow up on client progress

  • A person welding metal with sparks and bright blue light in a workshop.

    Additional Support

    - Information on job opportunities and labor market trends.

    - Referrals to other programs and services for clients in the community

    - Encourage collaboration between clients, employers, and the Friendship Centre

    - Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups

    - Meet with local employers

Our Employment & Training Program also works collaboratively with external businesses, communities and networks to build and maintain partnerships.
