Overview

The Etli-Sankweimɨk has been created out of a community wide need for safe housing for women, transperson, and child (ren) who are fleeing family violence. The intention is to offer secure temporary housing to support the well-being and healing of Indigenous individuals and families experiencing abuse. An integral piece of this second-stage housing is to provide a culturally safe space and programming that supports the healing and wellness of residents by building capacity, self-esteem, and healthy coping skills.

Etli-Sankweimɨk is a part of the MNFC’s housing team, and works alongside of the Housing Support Workers and Intensive Case Managers.

Etli-Sankweimɨk is regularly staffed by MNFC.

We offer support that is sensitive to trauma, focused on the individual, and mindful of cultural perspectives while promoting safety and reducing harm.
